welcome to our vision
The Ridgefield Library has an ambitious and exciting goal: to bring our Library into the 21st century through a carefully considered expansion and renovation project. The New Ridgefield Library will be a multilevel, energy efficient building with an open, flexible floor plan.

wish list for the new library launched
Library doors will open this spring, and we are working to outfit the building with furniture, fixtures, equipment and supplies to support library services. All items must meet commercial and safety standards of use as well as being ADA compliant where appropriate. We invite you to take a look and consider making a wish come true for the New Ridgefield Library. Choose from dozens of items at giving levels from $50 to $15,000. In addition to furnishings for the New Library, you may also choose to support some of our ongoing programs and collections like Books & Breakfast or downloadable e-book subscriptions.

strategic plan, 2013-2016
Following several months of gathering data and input from over 600 people, the Library Board has adopted new strategic planning documents to guide us as we move into the New Ridgefield Library.
Our Vision for the New Ridgefield Library
To be the centerpiece of Ridgefield, an essential partner and destination of choice for our community: the place where people go to read, discover, question, connect and thrive.
private fundraising to date as of 2/28/14: $15,260,049 from nearly 1,300 donors!
We are thrilled that we have surpassed the $15 million private fundraising goal in our Campaign for the New Ridgefield Library. Achieving this has taken the combined efforts of many people and nearly 1,300 donors. Crossing this threshold upholds the private fundraising commitment associated with the passing of the referendum in March 2012. Town funds of $5 million were released to the Library at the point in time when the cash on hand had been spent by the Library.
We continue to fundraise actively for costs associated with the roll-out of the New Library, including things such as advanced technology, relocation and interim operations, permits, marketing and fundraising and other costs in addition to bricks and mortar. Our goal is to raise an additional $2.8 million for these purposes.
