The Ridgefield Library has an ambitious and exciting goal: to bring our Library into the 21st century through a carefully considered expansion and renovation project. The new Ridgefield Library will be a multilevel, energy efficient building with an open, flexible floor plan.

A Place for Everyone

The new Library will welcome all visitors. Toddlers to seniors will have age-appropriate areas to enjoy collections and programs of most interest to them. The Library Commons will be a hub for lively exchange, while quiet reading rooms will appeal to those looking for a more traditional ambiance.

Technology for the 21st Century

A flexible technology infrastructure will provide convenient access to Library resources and emerging information delivery systems. Free, secure wireless and plentiful workstations will accommodate demand, and a technology resource center will support individual and group instruction.

An Accessible, Safe and Secure Public Facility

Sprinkler and security systems will make the Library a safer and more secure environment. An ADA-compliant building will ensure access to Library services and resources for all community members. Collections will be easy to reach on the shelves. Assistive technologies will facilitate computer use and program participation by all.

Green and Efficient Building

Energy-efficient design and advanced building systems will result in manageable utility costs and a healthy and comfortable environment. The new Ridgefield Library will be the first LEED-certified public building in town.

Request for Qualifications: Owner's Representative

The Ridgefield Library Association is soliciting applications for an Owner's Representative to oversee the construction project of the New Ridgefield Library. The Owner's Representative is primarily responsible for advocating the best interests of the Library by over-seeing the construction project during each phase. Submit resume for past 10 years plus 3 professional references.
